There is an ever increasing requirement for householders and house builders to consider incorporating sustainable drainage systems (SUDS) in their existing and new build homes. The requirement may be a personal environmental choice, financial, planning condition or a building regulation requirement. Current guidance and forthcoming legislation will encourage a greater uptake for SUDS as attempts are made to minimise the occurrences of flooding and reduce water wastage.
It has an exceptional short term compressive strength of 70 Tonnes/m².
At its core is a unique, highly voided, high strength, creep resistant, shallow synthetic sub-base replacement void former. This allows the Skeletank® to be installed within the stone layer of a driveway, path or patio area, replacing its equivalent volume in stone. This high strength skeleton allows Skeletank® to be installed at very shallow depths normally less than 500mm deep from the finished surfacing.
The Skeletank ® can be covered with paving blocks, slabs, decking, grass and even tarmac. This shallowness makes it a very safe installation for the installer avoiding the necessity for deep excavations which are susceptible to collapse.
It’s lightweight, weighing only 35kg and measures 1450mm long x 735mm wide x 315mm deep. It can be transported on a roof rack or in the back of a large family car saving on costly delivery charges where your local supplier is nearby. The Skeletank® will fit through a doorway or narrow passage and is easily carried by two people. This is very useful for terrace and town-house dwellings or detached and semi-detached properties where access is limited to a narrow passage. Many alternative systems would require a crane to lift a large tank into position or understanding neighbours as you drag it through their gardens.
The Skeletank® has got a single moulded shell making it guaranteed watertight. When installed one Skeletank® can hold 300litres and due to its modular nature can be easily added to increasing the storage volume to satisfy any requirement. Pipe connections are made via 2no. 110mmØ stubs. These are compatible with standard push fit underground pipes and fittings available from all good DIY stores and builders merchants.
The Skeletank® is produced in the UK and manufactured from recycled material and is re-usable and recyclable.
